We had the honour of hosting the International Yoga Day Celebrations organised by IDUK, in conjunction with the Isha Foundation at Arbour Park Stadium, Slough. on 21st June. The event was a resounding success, with over 300 attendees, including notable figures such as the Mayor of Slough, the High Commission of India in London and several Councillors, who enthusiastically participated in all the activities.
The evening, expertly hosted by Dr Pavni Lakhani, was a vibrant blend of Yoga, Zumba, and captivating performances. The event aimed to raise awareness about the profound benefits of Yoga for physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Originating from India, Yoga symbolises the harmony between mind and body and the balance between thought and action. The activities provided attendees with a holistic experience, encouraging them to integrate Yoga into their daily lives for better health and wellness. Emphasising that Yoga is for everyone, the event showcased how it can be adapted to suit people of all ages and fitness levels.
In addition to the Yoga and Zumba sessions, the event also featured the IDUK sports awards, which celebrated and recognised outstanding achievements in sports within the community. This recognition served to inspire and motivate individuals to excel in their respective sports and contribute positively to the community.
